While I am working, I watch movies or TV either on my laptop or my little tablet.

Yesterday I started my day with Some Kind of Wonderful. After that was over, Amazon Prime tried to automatically play The Lovely Bones, but I backed out of that and chose Clue because I didn’t want to watch any movies that would make me cry.

After Clue, it automatically played Napoleon Dynamite, then after that, the TV show The Middle.

Which made me start to wonder about the Amazon Prime algorithm. I have been using this service for years to watch movies. I never really watch any romance. Most of the movies I watch are horror, or I watch a lot of documentaries.

When I finish watching a horror movie, Amazon almost always automatically plays either a sappy romance or one of those comedies that are way over the top and gross and not funny, like Jackass.

So why does it automatically play these movies?

I have no idea.
