Yesterday was a busy day.

My city has a recreation center, and yesterday I checked out the cost. It’s $175 for the year and covers up to five family members.

The place is very nice. There is an indoor track and a room with treadmills and ellipticals. There are basketball courts, racquetball courts, and tennis courts (outside).

They also have a free weight room and fixed weights? I think that’s what they’re called?

Anyway, by the time I have enough time to take my oldest out for a walk, it is way too hot outside. This way, I have a place where I can get him to walk without suffocating from the heat.

My youngest used the weight room, and he also used a stair stepper, which I guess is in the room with the treadmills. He said he climbed 25 floors. I asked, ‘So if the elevator goes out in our building, you’ll be able to reach us on the 85th floor?’

He said, ‘No.’
