We are in the car right now heading to Kansas from Texas. It is 4:11 am, but Google Maps says we will be there by 11:30 am. Dan told me they are calling for bad storms today and my mind goes to the time when I was 12 and my family took this trip. We got in a pretty bad accident. There were storms that day too.

However, Then it was due to, too much water run off on a bridge in Oklahoma, and that was also the year 1988,so I’m pretty sure Oklahoma has that problem fixed by now.

I meant to look up my grandpa’s address but I forgot. My mom was a navy brat and moved around a lot but her family ended up in Kansas and that’s where she spent her teenage years. Sometimes she thinks she’s still in Kansas. She will ask me if that’s where we are.

‘No mom,’ I say. ‘We aren’t in Kansas anymore.’

That makes her laugh. Which is good she deserves to be happy and laugh.
