I had a good day yesterday.

I needed new jeans, so we went to Target, and I bought two pairs and a jean jacket. I said I was going to wear my new jeans and jacket and change my name. I asked my middle son if he knew what I was going to change my name to, I was just going to say Jean, but he said, “Billie Jean.”

I liked that, that’s what I’m going to use.

After Target, we picked up my youngest because he didn’t want to go with me to get jeans, and went to the Grapevine Mills Mall.

I was talking with my boys about how when I was younger I used to go to Walden Books at the Nolan River Mall in Cleburne Texas.

It was next to the pretzel store and K-Mart. That’s where I bought all my Ramona Quimby and Sweet Valley High books. Walden Books and the books that I bought there are both long gone but I mentioned how there should still be bookstores in malls.

My middle son said there is one in the Grapevine Mills Mall so that’s why we went there.

There were people there yesterday who were dressed in costumes. My sons knew who they were some characters from Five Nights at Freddy’s. I wondered why they were dressed up I thought maybe there was a theme that night at the mall or some convention happening near by, but my sons said people just like to dress up and go to the mall.

At Attic Salt I bought a true crime a day calendar and the cashier also had a costume on so I asked him why, he said that people do it for conventions and for cosplay but since there were not any happening that weekend he said they just dressed up for fun.

I asked him what his costume was, it was a Halo character but I don’t know which one. My middle son knew. His hair was blonde on one side and black on the other. I don’t know if that had anything to do with his costume though.

We also went to the arcade and I won the ghost bird/penguin pictured. I very rarely win anything in the crane machine, I was excited.

Oh and we went to the book store and I bought Hunted by Darcy Coates. I am going to read after I finish Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury.

I read Dead of Winter by Darcy Coates and it was really good. I had been meaning to get another book by her but I got stuck in a Grady Hendrix loop for a minute.
