Happy Tuesday.

I had to work in office today so I am writing a lot later than usual. It started out as a crap day, I was late because of traffic, then I couldn’t get the equipment in the office to work. After all of that is was business as usual.

I did here a funny conspiracy theory though.

For as long as we have been hybrid workers there have been people who have always grumbled that soon they are going to make us come to the office more. However there has not ever been anyone in a high up position that has said this will happen.

Well, today I eavesdropped on a conversation.

A little back story, we have smart elevators in the building. You choose which floor you want on a touch screen outside the elevator and it tells you what letter elevator to use, then that elevator takes you to your floor. Just like a regular elevator but the panel is on the outside and you don’t have to do anything extra once you are inside the elevator.

On the second level of the parking garage one of the fancy touch screens hasn’t been working for quite awhile, there is also one out on the floor where I work and in the lobby. They just recently replaced the one in the parking garage but not any of the other ones that are out, just the ones in the parking garage. Which I need to add are different than the ones in the rest of the building. Most likely because technology for elevator panels is different than it was in 2009 when the building was first erected.

I should also add that we are all going to have to get parking passes and new name badges.

This guy was saying that we were going to have to start coming in to the office more so our company could justify the cost of the new elevator panels, name badges and parking passes.

No sir, I had to contain my laughter.

For one thing the company I work for rents the offices in the building. Another thing the building is owned by another entity, I know their name but at the moment I can’t remember. All of these things are most likely a result of the property management updating systems and maintenance that my company already pays in their rent of the office spaces.

If anything that guy should be more worried about my company deciding they don’t want to pay rent anymore and either sending everyone home to work or worse, sending everyone home.

Honestly, their are worse things than having to come to the office more, like not having a job to go to the office for, that would be heartbreaking.

After work I came home and slept for a couple hours. After that I watched a movie with my mom I’ve seen it before it’s called Swimming With Men. It’s a good movie.

It is about a group of middle aged men from Great Britain that form a synchronized swimming team and go to the world championship. It’s based on a true story and when the world is getting you down you should watch this movie.

Alright well, that’s all I have tonight. Everyone sleep well, or party all night, whatever you like to do.
