Spring is coming along.

I’ve been working on it a little at a time, I decided to make some geometric shapes as the background and it is giving a 70’s type vibe which I really like.

I started with the diamond in the middle and yesterday I added the blue on the right.

My youngest some came in while I was working on it and the blue rectangle wasn’t fully complete yet, just three rows. My youngest says,

“That’s a diamond and an L.”

I said,

“That’s a diamond and a rectangle.”

Him,

“A what?”

Me,

“A rectangle.”

Him,

“A restaquabble”

Me,

“A REC-TANGLE! Boy, what are they teaching you at school? You are in 11th grade and you don’t know shapes?”

Him,

“I am learning everything about the body, not shapes.”

Me,

“Ok, that’s fine, but don’t you have geometry this year?”

Him,

“Not this trimester. Did you know there are three different types of cells? Squamous, cuboidal and columnal.”

Me,

“Ok, what other shape is a squamous cell?”

Him,

(I don’t remember what he said, I think that is didn’t really have a shape.)

Me,

“What is another shape for a cuboidal cell?”

Him,

“It’s a cube so it’s like a square.”

Me,

“What is another shape for a columnal cell?”

Him,

“A column, or a rectangle.”

Me,

“There we go.”

We finally got there but it took a minute. I know my son knows what his shapes are, I just thought it was a funny story.

We all went to the mall yesterday and walked around. I’m supposed to go to Grapefest today, and I might but I don’t know. We will see.
