It’s finally Friday.

Aside from the in-person work meeting Tuesday and the denial of Saturday work on Wednesday it’s been a fairly uneventful week.

I had a random thought yesterday.

I listen to a true crime podcast called Red Handed. It’s been around for awhile but I just found it a few months ago so I started from the first episode. Any way, there is one episode The Oklahoma Girl Scout Murders that happened in 1977. In that episode the police searched the woods and found a cave that the murderer most likely stayed in, the reason was they found some things counselors were missing at the camp and one of the murdered girls glasses.

On the wall of the cave was the date of the murders but it was written like year/month/day. It was weird to everyone involved in the case because no one writes dates that way.

Well, I have to input dates that way every day.

At work we have an old DOS system we do a majority of our work with. It is the old black screen with green letters and numbers type of operating program. When we input dates the DOS system can only read them as year/month/day.

It is strange and it took me a very long time to do this without thinking about it but, I thought if something like that was around in 1977, which is possible, maybe the killer wrote the date that way because he had to every day in some kind of rudimentary computer like at a job or something?

I also had a random thought that I need to get the hamburger meat out on my lunch break so I can make tacos for dinner.

My brain jumps around a lot sometimes.

Like about a day ago, I was thinking about a co-worker. This person wants to move up the company ladder but gets passed up for promotions. They would say all the time how they didn’t understand why because the had several hours of PTO (paid time off for those who don’t know.) I remember thinking ok you get that for showing up for work, that just means you showed up, it doesn’t mean you worked. They take calls and I found out from my supervisor that they take up to an hour in between their calls sometimes. It is only supposed to be 2.5 minutes.

So, maybe that’s why they aren’t getting promoted? I wonder if they will ever realize that? I mean it’s one thing to show up for work, but then you actually have to do your job guys.

Tonight I will start my picture for Spring. I am thinking about doing the background first then transferring the drawing. I think there should be yellow at the top, blue in the middle and pink at the bottom. Green should be in the mix also but not from the top down, that I may wait on until the girl is drawn on the canvas, but I’m definitely going to make the background first.
