I’m not going to lie to you, I don’t want to be awake right now, but I am awake right now.

I did get my tooth fixed yesterday, I was at the dentist for four hours. The reason why was, as the dentist put it, my body recognized something was wrong with my tooth and started building calcium deposits around the root of that tooth that were so hard he had a difficult time drilling through it to the root. Thankfully, I only needed that one root canal, the other tooth just needed a crown. So now I have temporary crowns, but I hate it because now all I can think is that I am going to break these temporary crowns.

Since I am awake, I guess I will clean, after that I am going to start my next picture.

The thought of going out somewhere today is non-existent. For one thing I just do not want to and for another thing it’s tax free weekend.

I remember one year one of my Facebook friends who is the same age as me, posted, ‘Why do they have tax free weekend? You are only saving 20%, so why don’t you just go to a 20% off sale?’

I responded, ‘Because at a 20% off sale you still pay tax, so yes you get 20% off but then as you say, you pay 20% of the price in tax, so what are you saving? Nothing really, and when you are a single mom with three kids that 20% really does save you money.’

I never did the math to check her work but I don’t know what she was trying to rationalize. She didn’t have children and I don’t think she does now, I think she was trying to shop that day and was annoyed by the crowds.

I get it, I waited one year until the tax free weekend to go out shopping for the kids. I mainly needed to get school supplies. It was like someone opened up all the asylums in the country and told them to go to Walmart. I had to wait in line to get the school supplies three different times because apparently the year before a huge fight broke out on tax free weekend in the school supply area. So they roped it off and made everyone go through the line and go through the school supply rows one at a time.

At the time I thought I could only shop for one kid at a time. I found out later I could have had them go in with the hand held baskets and get their own supplies. Whatever.

Any way, the third and final time and the fourth hour I was waiting there was a lady behind me that was threatening the Walmart employees. She said it was against the law to prevent people from buying things in a store, it’s not, and she was going to call the police. She did call the police, then she threatened the store manager, the police came, she was arrested.

She called the police on herself. I didn’t go back to that Walmart for several years after that, the online ordering thing had started by then so that helped.

Also, I used to work at Walmart, I have no desire to be around some of the people that shop there ever, ever again. I don’t understand being cruel to someone who is just there doing a job like they are supposed to, it has never made any sense to me, unless they are also rude but in those situations I am as kind to them as I can be, I was there, I know it sucks.
