Well I am up it’s Saturday and I’m sitting here thinking, ‘I need to stop reading posts on Reddit.’
There was one today about someone who was single and just bought a house with a small backyard. It was just them and their dog. A woman from two houses down came to them and said they should let her kids play in their backyard because they were just one person and didn’t need their yard but her kids needed a yard.
No lady that’s not ok, I don’t understand this thinking.
When my kids were small we lived in an apartment. I would take them to parks and the apartments swimming pool. These moments are the ones they remember with fondness. I never once thought, ‘let’s find someone’s yard to play in,’ I’m sorry but, what the fuck?
I used to post on Nextdoor, there was a lady that posted there once asking what is a good way t keep kids out of her yard. Apparently a woman from some neighboring apartments was taking her kids there to play in her yard. She came out one day and told them it was private property and they needed to leave. I think that also kids were cutting through her yard to get to school. People bitched her out for wanting to keep kids out of her yard.
I don’t get it, what happens if one of those kids get hurt in her yard? Are the parents going to take responsibility for that injury? No, they are going to sue the owner of the property.
It boggles my mind that people think they have full use of private property.
Any way, I think today I am going to use my longbow, in my backyard. Where no one else is invited.
