It’s never been my thing.

I don’t think I will have bad luck if a black cat runs in front of me, but, this has been a superstition for so long that people will believe it, and they will avoid black cats to avoid bad luck.

That’s the whole thing in my mind. You hear stories of things like this for so long that no matter how far-fetched you believe it, I have always believed in actions and consequences myself so it’s not a black cat that cause your bad luck, it’s you thinking ‘oh great now I’m going to have bad luck,’ when you see the black cat.
